His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej celebrates his eighty third birthday today, December 5th 2010, in his royal palace in Bangkok.
This is a national holiday within Thailand which is celebrated by everyone in the Kingdom.
We cannot do justice to the wide range of successes his Majesty has brought to all areas of Thailand over his time serving as the world’s longest running monarch.
However we are starting a series of educational pieces which will report on many of the wonderful changes The King has brought to Thailand which have inspired other countries to follow suit. The first of these is a basic educational piece on the early life of the King which can be found here. It may be useful for classes or community groups who wish to focus on a Thailand project.
We wish his Majesty a happy and warm birthday and wish for peace and happiness for everyone in Thailand during their celebration of the King on this day.
