Learn about the King of Thailand
Thailand is a rich and diverse culture which encompasses over 60 million people from regions of every tropical type imaginable. From the mountainous Chiang Rai area to the beach resorts of the islands.
In every country there are areas of dispute over political systems, customs, music and where is best in the country. However, one thing that everyone in Thailand agrees upon, from every level of society, is that the King is a marvellous man who has taken Thailand from the beginning of his reign and converted it into a place which looks after its people and its land using progressive ecological techniques and community development ethologies which earned him the respect of the whole world with a lifetime achievement award from the United Nations being presented to him in 2006.
We have some learning resources created for us by a very nice virtual volunteer called Sara which will help everyone from all ages understand a little more about the King of Thailand and his life. Below is one example of her excellent work producing a family tree of the Thai royal family from the King and Queen’s mother and father to their grandchildren.
