Terms and Conditions
International travel is inherently risky. By becoming a volunteer, you acknowledge and accept these risks and those associated with living and working in developing countries. As a volunteer you must appreciate and understand that some of these activities may be outside of your personal insurance coverage. Mundo Exchange is not liable (to the maximum extent of the law) for any loss or harm you may suffer, including but not limited to loss caused by delay, bodily injury or death, damage to or loss of property, war or terrorism.
Volunteers and family can contact English speaking Mundo Exchange staff in Thailand by email or telephone.
Mundo Exchange is not liable for any errors or mistakes made by partner organisations. All disputes are governed by the law of Thailand.
Mundo Exchange reserves the right to use feedback from volunteers and photos showing volunteers for website or printed material.
Change of placement – Sometimes schools and orphanages do not require a volunteer as previously agreed. In this case Mundo Exchange will offer a similar placement.
Mundo Exchange cannot lend money to volunteers.
Cancellation Policy
The application fee is 200 €. This application fee is part of the placement fee which is dependent upon your chosen period of stay. The application fee is non refundable. This is because Mundo Exchange needs to make financial commitments on your behalf prior to the placement start date. For this reason, unfortunately, we can make no exceptions.
The placement fee minus the application fee is refundable. If Mundo Exchange cancels your placement prior to your arrival, for any reason, Mundo Exchange can be held responsible.
All refunds will be made less the costs incurred in processing the refund; such as bank charges.
The placement fee is due upon arrival at the latest. The refund of placement fee or parts thereof as far as not caused by Mundo Exchange is subject to individual decision made by Mundo Exchange based on the cause of request and under Thai law.
All requests for application fee refunds must be in the form of a written letter to Mundo Exchange in Thailand with your signature at the bottom. We can not accept phone calls or email. You will be notified by Mundo Exchange upon receipt of your application for a refund within 48 hours. Should you not be emailed in regards to your request, the assumption should be made that the request form was not received. Mundo Exchange is not responsible for mail that is not received.
Example Volunteer Agreement
I read and agree to the above terms and conditions.
I agree to abide by Thai laws and to follow the rules of schools and orphanages (e.g. do not smoke at schools or orphanages).
I know that I am not supposed to express a political opinion about my host country nor promote any religious or other ideological views.

Hey you guys, the website is really starting to look good. I told Dalyn that we have been working hard on a brochure here in the States for Mundo and have done quite a bit of editing on some of the website language. If you would like to see that, let me know…I love all the new pictures and updates on how the volunteering is going. We had some very enthusiastic students from Clark College wanting to come and talk part with Mundo in Thailand. One of them, a young man named Joey, will be writing you with interest in the internship or volunteering. He seemed to have great energy and spirit and has done lots of wonderful work in Vancouver with youth. He is really interested in business/infrastructure development. Just wnated to let you know. Take care. Joan
Nicely done guys!
Hats off to you.

An article of mine on Cinquera, a village in Central America (one of
our pilot projects on Rural Ecotourism/Cultural & Historic sites here
in El Salvador) enjoy.
