MUNDO EXCHANGE NEWSLETTER
Mundo Exchange may occasionally send a newsletter to subscribers of our site and to friends and former volunteers and interns. The purpose of the newsletter is to inform everyone about our successes, upcoming challenges and general information about the services which are ongoing.

We respect the copyright of other parties and never use work that has been attained by other parties unless paid for to employees or given by others. All content is goverened by international law. Written consent will be freely given for private use.
Mundo Exchange reserves the right to change, modify, add, or remove components of this Policy at any time. In case of any material/significant changes, a prominent notice will be posted on our website. Once volunteers and interns are in country at their cross cultural and placement training they discuss, read and then sign that they are aware, adhere to and agree with ways that reflect their rights and support respectable cross cultural interactions.

Contacting in country hosts and volunteers
Friends and family of those helping with our community development projects may contact English or local language speaking Mundo Exchange volunteer hosts by email or telephone at any time. We also encourage friends and family to visit prior to, during or after a volunteers placement.
Contacting Mundo Exchange through our website
Information coming via our website will go to Mundo Exchange and will not be revealed to any person not directly working with the volunteer that submits the information.
Personal Rights and Data
We do not pass personal data on to third parties. We strongly believe this is a violation of cross cultural respect and privacy.
Mundo Exchange reserves the right to use written feedback from volunteers, interns and staff and also photos showing volunteers, interns and staff for our educational website or on printed materials. We make every attempt to assure your work is not used by others or on other websites illegally or without Mundo Exchange’s consent and the volunteers. Materials written by volunteers and interns for our site and at our Centres are used for educational purposes and to describe Mundo’s and our partner’s nonprofit work and humanitarian aid.
International travel can be dangerous and may lead to unforeseen problems such as death, sickness or other physical or mental problems. By becoming a volunteer, you acknowledge and accept these possible risks and those associated with living and working in other countries. As a volunteer you must appreciate and understand that some of these activities may be outside of your personal insurance coverage.Mundo Exchange is not liable, to the maximum extent of the law, for any loss or harm you may suffer, including but not limited to loss caused by delay, bodily injury or death, vehicle accidents, damage to or loss of property,• war or terrorism. It is the volunteer’s duty and sole responsibility to verify travel advice given by your home country and the country you assist. Mundo Exchange and partners have devised emergency exit plans that can be used in most cases if ever a problem should arise.
All volunteers and interns that come and help Mundo Exchange’s partners should obtain medical, travel, flight and other insurances they feel important prior to your travels to your placements and projects. Often clinics, hospitals and other medical departments may not give treatments prior to payments received. Insurances are the sole responsibility of all who come to help. Mundo Exchange and partners will not be liable if there is a problem.
It is the volunteers, interns or staffs sole responsibility to speak with medical professionals about medicines, other drugs, vaccinations and other medical concerns that may be associated with the region or regions of your travel.
Traveling during, to or from your placement in any form of transportation i.e. bicycles, bus, motorbike, car is the volunteer’s sole responsibility. You may not hold Mundo Exchange, partners, hosts and other individuals responsible or liable, to the maximum extent of the law, for any accidents that may cause you injuries or death.
Volunteers riding with uninsured or unlicensed drivers should not expect reimbursement if accidents should happen. Many drivers do not have insurance policies or even valid drivers licenses. Decline these options if you should be concerned.
Mundo Exchange is not liable for any errors or mistakes made by partner organisations. All disputes are governed by the law of the country you volunteer. If there should ever be a mistake by a partner we will all do everything in our power to correct any error.
Cross Cultural Exchange Personal Conduct
All volunteers and interns represent Mundo Exchange, our partners, themselves and their respective countries. Volunteers need to show tolerance and respect to in country hosts, local people, the government and leaders. All must respect the in countries social norms, mores and laws. If there are problems we resolve the problem through good will, good heart, and higher level discussions. This process leads to a volunteer and community development group that is grounded in good ways.
Drug Use and Legal Violations
Any use of drugs by volunteers and/or violations of other laws will result in immediate termination of the intern, volunteer or staff member from Mundo Exchange projects without refund. There are other rules at placements and while living at your placement that will be discussed at orientations that also need to be followed. Volunteers are expected to abide by these easily recognized rules and laws.
Passports and Visas
Mundo Exchange or partners are not liable for problems one may have with immigration and visa restrictions. Passports should have at least six month validity, after your planned return date. Local hosts will go with you to in country, to local, government offices to assist you with needed paper work and provide themselves as sponsors. In the case the locals decide to obtain paid western support staff, local hosts will help with papers needed but the individual will be expected, through goodwill, to financially compensate for local’s work and time. We recommend all speak with your own countries representatives consulate prior to coming and obtain the necessary visa for the amount of time you will be helping and visiting projects in Thailand. We will also provide a letter of introduction for all who have completed the application process. We and our staff, volunteers, interns have great interactions with the government officials in country. Once you are here you will be taken by local volunteer staff to complete necessary paperwork with officials..
The donation deposit is usually 200 € or in an equivalent currency and is required to secure your position. This deposit is part of the total volunteer fee which is dependent upon your chosen period of stay and position. This deposit is usually non refundable. This is because Mundo Exchange and partners work to make commitments on your behalf prior to your placement start date, discussing how best to help you and securing placements that are in need of your help. For this reason we can make few exceptions.The placement fee minus your donation deposit is refundable. If for any reason Mundo Exchange cancels your placement prior to your arrival, Mundo Exchange can be held responsible. Change of placement is rare but sometimes placements do not require a volunteer as previously agreed. In this case Mundo Exchange will offer a similar placement. If you would like to change your placement once you are in country we will do everything in our power to help you do this at no cost to you.All refunds will be made minus the costs such as bank charges in processing the refund. Your total donation is usually due 4 weeks prior to arrival unless otherwise planned. The refund of placement fee or parts thereof as far as not caused by Mundo Exchange is subject to individual decision made by Mundo Exchange based on the cause of request and under local law.Since Mundo Exchange is a registered nonprofit you may be able to receive a tax deduction for your transportation, travel to and from your projects, your payment and other related expenses. Speak with your financial advisor and let us know if there is any paperwork we can send you.
Placement Cancellations and Changes
If there should be a request for a placement fee refund, please write a letter or email to Mundo Exchange, with the date and your signature at the bottom. We can not accept phone calls as the sole means of refunding. You will be notified by Mundo Exchange upon receipt of your application for a refund. Should you not be emailed in regards to your request, the assumption should be made that the request form was not received. Please call us if this should happen and we will return your refund as quickly as possible. If the request is less than one month some of your fee has been paid to locals to set up your placement and place of living and that part will not be returned. If you need to change your placement or date of placement prior to arrival please advise us by writing to us and we will do everything in our power to make this change for you.There is no charge for this service. We also will not charge for any additional placements volunteers want to obtain after volunteering at their first placements.
