adopt and elder thailand Bun Mee

RIP Bun Mee

Losing someone is never easy, and the elders in our Adopt an Elder program feel like family to us! Bun Mee, who lived at home with her youngest son, has passed away peacefully at the age of 92. She knew her time was coming and told us as much during one of our social visits. She even had an outfit prepared!

As sad as we are to say goodbye to Bun Mee we are grateful for the time we had with her and find comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain.

Bun Mee will be greatly missed by us, her community, and her family. Her son was very appreciative of the help and care he and his mom have received through social visits and care packages. He told us “what we did [for them] helped her life”. He still goes to the doctor for cancer treatments and check ups and at the moment he is healthy and doing quite well!  We plan to continue our visits to ensure he is healthy and has enough food and resources.

Your donations are helping imact famlies’ lives and imrpove the lives of elders during their final days, especially during this past pandemic shadowed year! We cannot stress how powerful and meaninful that has been! Thank you.
